Obituary from The State Journal-Register 22 January 2008 IRLAM, Helene M.; 85, of Jacksonville died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born May 8, 1922, in Virginia, the daughter of Earl and Ethel Geuder Ross. She married John D. Irlam in 1947; he preceded her in death in 1976. She married Thomas W. Irlam in 1981; he preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by two sons, Ross E. (wife, Jan Sescleifer) Irlam and John David (wife, Jean) Irlam, both of Springfield; two daughters, Susan K. Srbljan of Springfield and Catherine Irlam (husband, Bill) Brant of Boulder, Colo.; four stepsons, Bill (wife, Janet) Irlam, Bob Irlam and Don (wife, Julie) Irlam, all of Murrayville, and Larry (wife, Janet) Irlam of Jacksonville; three stepdaughters, Carol (husband, Tim) Reeves of Dongola, Mary Ann (husband, Jon) Shepherd of Friendswood, Texas, and Karen (husband, Jerry) Meado of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; 23 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Ross and Roy Charles Ross; two sisters, Katherine Ring and Thelma Ann Cronk; and a stepdaughter, Janet Lagergren. Mrs. Irlam was a longtime resident of the Woodson and Murrayville communities. She was bookkeeper for Woodson Farmer's Elevator, and a member of Woodson Unity Presbyterian Church and Woodson American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed participating in swim class at the YMCA and having lunch with friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Williamson

He was born March 23, 1956 in Detroit, was the son of Charles H. and Margaret E. (vanVlymen) Earlam. Greg resided in the Howell area since 1971 and was a 1974 graduate of Howell High School. He was a former Mason with the Pinckney Lodge and a member of the Howell Eagles. Greg was a very avid Tigers and Red Wings fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating on Thompson Lake. Dear father of Greg Jr., of Howell; brother of Anne (Dave) Miller, of Fowlerville and Carole (Steve) Summers of Howell; also survived by nieces, Emily (Ben) Martin, Andrea Merry and a beloved group of very tight-knit friends. EARLAM, MARGARET E. (PEGGY): age 79, of Howell, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1930 in Galt, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Gerard P. and A. Constance (Porter) van Vlymen. She was a teller for McPherson Bank for many years. Beloved wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Earlam (April 26, 2009) whom she married February 12, 1955 in Toronto. Dear mother of Gregory of Howell, Anne (Dave) Miller of Fowlerville and Carole (Steve) Summers of Howell. Also survived by three grandchildren, Emily (Ben) Martin, Andrea Merry and Greg, Jr.; siblings, Constance Wright of Ontario, Vincent van Vlymen of Alberta, Canada and Bernardina McDonald of Ontario. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Peggy and her husband had traveled extensively, especially throughout the Caribbean. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, sewing and reading, but her true passion was her lifelong devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren.
PENNSYLVANIA The Meadville Tribune, 30 November 2005 ARNOLD J. IRLAM, 86, of Harmonsburg Road, Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Meadville Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1919, in Meadville, a son of William and Gertrude Capel Irlam. He married Pauline J. Kastel on Aug. 23, 1946. He retired in 1981 from the former Avtex Fibers Inc. and had been employed by its predecessors, FMC Corp. and American Viscose, for 43 years. He was a member of St. Agatha Church and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid golfer. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Pauline Irlam of Conneautville, include two daughters, Joanne McClay and her husband, Edward, of Meadville, and Judy Davis and her husband, Lamar, of Cambridge Springs; one sister, Gertrude Ulam of Warren, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Richard Howell of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons, Matthew McClay and his wife, Melissa, of Erie, and Jeffrey Norton and his wife, Stacey, of Saegertown; one great-grandchild, Derrick; one stepgreat-grandchild, Isabella; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Irlam; his mother, Gertrude Irlam; one brother, William Irlam Jr.; and one sister, Hilda Howell. today at 10 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, with Father Richard Allen of the
church as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, with a military
honor service by Vietnam Veterans Post 52 Welcome Home Association. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Rolling Fields
Inc. or St. Agatha Church.
